EDCAB to hold Virtual Currency & Blockchain Expo in the European Parliament

EDCAB - the European Digital Currency & Blockchain Technology Forum - will hold a 4-day expo inside the European Parliament in Brussels during the week of 18 April 2016. 

European Parliament to consider virtual currencies

The influential Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee of the European Parliament will hold a public hearing into virtual currencies on Monday 25 January 2016. The Committee is preparing its upcoming own-initiative report on virtual currencies. Panellists will include representatives from the European Commission and the OECD, academia and stakeholders from the private sector including EDCAB - the European Digital Currency and Blockchain Technology Forum.

European Union virtual currency legislation published

The European Commission has adopted proposals for new legislation bringing virtual currency exchanges and wallet providers into the anti-money laundering framework.

MEPs pass virtual currencies and blockchain report

The European Parliament's influential Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs voted overwhelmingly to adopt its virtual currencies and blockchain report this morning (Tuesday 26 April 2016), paving the way for a vote of the full parliament at May's plenary meeting.
